Shortly before the First World War, Eugène Fuchs, passionate about perfumes, founded his own company based on an innovative concept: the direct sale of perfumed products to tourists discovering the Riviera.
This is how the Fragonard perfumery was born in 1926. The choice of the name of the famous pinto from Grasse, Jean-Honoré Fragonard (1732-1806), pays tribute to the city of Grasse that welcomed him and to the refinement of the 18th century. This choice reflects the desire to maintain its activity in line with respect for traditions.
The following three generations perpetuated the spirit of the House by creating new production and sales units in Grasse, Eze and Paris. Jean-François Costa modernized the company and created museums dedicated to the history of perfumery, thus bringing a cultural dimension to Fragonard. Today, their daughters Agnès and Françoise run the House, enriching the offer of fragrances inspired by Provence or tinged with exoticism, adapting to new lifestyles.
Over nine decades, Fragonard has grown from a single factory to a world of 3 factories, 6 museums and 24 boutiques.
The Fragonard Vrai line of hotels is an authentic and refined range inspired by the freshness of the Mediterranean.
